Our design schedule is currently full. We have a wait list for designs starting Summer/Fall 2023 with planting in Spring 2024 at the earliest.
About E&A
Emily and Austin collaborate to bring their unique set of skills, knowledge and experiences together in their work. Out of this, The Green Seed Sustainable Design + Nursery has thrived. We are a women owned, family-run business established in 2014. At first Emily and Austin ran 3 landscaping crews out of Portland, OR and it is here that they began their ventures into design work. In 2018 they moved their business to Canby, OR. “The Garden Spot“. Since then Emily and Austin have re-invented The Green Seed. They have closed the landscaping division and are focused on Sustainable Design + Planting projects as well as their Certified Naturally Grown Nursery.
Design
We create beautiful planting plans utilizing the principles of landscape design to create eye catching gardens. In addition to design, we also offer plants and planting services. Our goal is to create your designs in the most sustainable way possible and we do this in the following ways:
We encourage reducing or eliminating lawn areas or considering lawn alternatives. In our designs we use drought tolerant plants, and create full gardens that provide pollinator support. We strive toward providing ecosystem services and reducing pollution through features such as rain gardens, native habitat areas, stumps, nurse logs, birdbaths, meadows etc. We encourage participation in the Backyard Habitat Certification program and most of our projects are certifiable when installation is complete.
